Top Ten Books Written in the Past 10 Years That I Hope People Are Still Reading in 30 Years
10
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith
Every generation has it's master of horror, from Marry Shelly in the 19th century to Stephen King in the 90s and early 2000s, but I think this generation is Grahame-Smith's time!
9
Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
This is the best superpower novel I've ever read! I hope Juliette ends up as the next Spiderman!
8
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1)
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
This book changed my whole view of what a YA book can be! Amazing read!
7
Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1)
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
The best ghost story I've ever read without a doubt!
6
Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1)
Wither by Lauren Destefano
Wither was the book that I called my "official" start to reading primarily YA. Just so amazing!
5
Divergent (Divergent, #1)
Divergent is so extraordinary! Awesome characters, an amazing plot, and great world building! If people aren't reading this in 50 years I'll be PISSED!
4
The Accidental Hero (Jack Blank Adventure, #1)
The Accidental Hero by Matt Myklusch
Favorite middle grade book evah!
3
Wings (Wings, #1)
Wings by Aprilynne Pike
Though the first book was not as good as the others, this series is magnificent!
2
The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
Truly the Alice in Wonderland of its time!
1
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This is my favorite book ever. Period. If it's not being read in 30 years, then I'll make sure I'm not either!

  7. As far as Divergent goes, I will be pissed right along with you. Amazing book. I absolutely LOVED Shatter Me, too! Mara Dyer--I agree. Hunger Games--DUH. And Anna, you are so right. Kendare did a ghost story the right way.

    Have a great day, Benji!

  8. Loved The Hunger Games too - it's my favorite from the ones I've read from your list. I didn't like the cover for Shatter Me, but it's gotten such good reviews so I better stop judging the book by it's cover and pick it up. Awesome list.

  9. I would definitely have picked some of the books up there, such as Shatter Me (a fave), Anna, Divergent, Unbecoming, The Hunger Games. I haven't read a couple of them (Abe Lincoln, which I am desperate to read, The Accidental Hero and Wither) so I can't agree with those. One that I would add without a shadow of a doubt is Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. Loved the list! Thanks

  10. Time flies and it'd be 30 years in a jiffy. I'll be middle aged by then and I really hope I'll continue to enjoy those books, particularly Hunger Games and Shatter Me.

On a random note, I'm still holding out for Girl of Nightmares before reading Anna Dressed in Blood . xD
