Interview with Wendy Higgins, author of Sweet Evil

Today I'm pleased to welcome Wendy Higgins, author of Sweet Evil!
What if there were teens whose lives depended on being bad influences? This is life for sons and daughters of fallen angels in Sweet Evil.

Tenderhearted Southern girl, Anna Whitt, was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage, and her will-power is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

A cross-country trip to meet her father forces Anna to face the reality that hope and love are not options for her kind. When she confronts her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

What can readers expect when reading SWEET EVIL?
They can expect a forbidden love story with vivacious characters.

You found your publisher on Harper Collin's Inkpop, how do you think this new technology era has changed the world of publishing?
Well, even though Inkpop isn’t around anymore, I think it’s only the beginning for writers to be discovered via online avenues. Whether it’s online contests like the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, or self-publishing and blog-world marketing, the dream-come-true doesn’t necessarily have to come in a traditional package anymore.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
I think my biggest would be cell phone manners. What I mean is that I think it’s sad that we ignore the people right in front of us in favor of our phones. Make eye contact. Smile. Give people your full attention.

Oh, and DON’T USE YOUR PHONE DURING A MOVIE! ADD people like me are easily distracted by the flicker of blue lights in a darkened theatre, lol.

What do you think SWEET EVIL would be better as - a movie or a TV show?

Hmm…wow, this is a good question. I could really see either, but I’ll go for movie.

If you were the child of a demon from SWEET EVIL, which demon do you think your parent would be?
Eeeek! Oh, man, are you making me air my dirty laundry?? Haha…to be honest, I think I focused on the children of the demons of Lust and Substance Abuse (Kai and Anna) because those are the two I can relate to best. So, just like my MCs I’d be a daughter of Pharzuph or Belial. Lust or alcohol. Don’t judge. *blushes*

Describe SWEET EVIL in three words. GO!
Dark, Sensual, Tense.
Wendy Higgins is a former High School English teacher living in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children. Sweet Evil is her first novel.
Thanks Wendy for the fun interview!
