Top Ten Books Everyone Has Read But Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Top Ten Books Everyone Has Read But Me
(Note: This week is a freebie week so you can pick any bookish subject you want!)
10
Nightshade (Nightshade, #1)
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
Everyone raves about this series... for some reason I just haven't bothered to read it yet!
9
Anna and the French Kiss
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Reading this book has been more of a "how can I avoid everyone seeing me read this book" then not wanting to read it. I must find a way! (mwhahahahaha!!!)
8
Angelfire (Angelfire, #1)
Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton
I really need to read this book... it sounds amazing but it is THICK! Probably a summer vacation read.
7
Firelight (Firelight, #1)
Firelight by Sophie Jordan
This book sounds pretty good, but dragons haven't really interested me that much...
6
Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1)
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I just had to have this book, I emailed a bunch of people requesting it (author, publisher, and publicist) and the publicist finally delivered, and that was in September!
5
Paper Towns
Paper Towns by John Green
John Green is one author I have just been REALLY hesitant to read!
4
Evernight (Evernight, #1)
Evernight by Claudia Gray
I really enjoyed Gray's Fateful, so I need to start this series. I downloaded it on my kindle (for free!) a week ago, so I'll read it soon!
3
Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception (Books of Faerie, #1)
Lament: The Faerie's Queen Deception by Maggie Stiefvater
I loved the Shiver Trilogy and The Scorpio Races, so I really need to read Maggie's earlier works!
2
Thirteen Reasons Why
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
I am waiting to read this until I am really depressed, so I can be happy at my life compared to how miserable it is in this book!
1
Wake (Dream Catcher, #1)
Wake by Lisa McMann
Everyone says this series is the bomb, but I didn't like Lisa's Dead to You so I'm a bit hesitant to read it.

  1. Well, not everyone! I've only read 3 of these: Anna and the French Kiss, Daughter of Smoke and Bone (LOOOOVED), and Paper Towns (John Green's worst in my opinion). :P

  3. Ooooh. I mean, why are you hesitant to read books written by John Green?

  4. I like your topic! I wasn't feeling in the mood for the suggested topic, but I really do like yours.

Nightshade & Angelfire: really should read both of those series, fantastic reads!

Anna: I attempted to listen to it, but I stopped after the first cd I couldn't take St Claire this, oh St. Claire that, it was driving me bonkers! And I guess there isn't any more to the book besides their eventual hook up. Not my type of books

Firelight & Evernight: Both are waiting on my shelves to be read.

Smoke and Bone & Thirteen Reason: Eventually I hope to pick it up and one day get to it.

The others aren't really on any of my lists.

So many amazing books I want to get one day read as well.

  5. I haven't read any of those books. Except for Nightshade. :P

  6. +JMJ+

Would you believe that I, too, have never read any of these books! =O

    ReplyDelete
  7. I actually haven't read many of these yet either, but ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS, DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE, ANGELFIRE and LAMENT are must-reads! :) Also enjoyed NIGHTSHADE but not as much as the others. :D

    ReplyDelete
  8. You're not alone! haha. I've actually gone to add some of those books to my cart on thebookdepository but then I'd already have about 10 books in there so I'd remove some... and those ones got removed "/ I will read them soon though!

    ReplyDelete
  9. You have to read Nightshade! You'll love it!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Many have read the "Anna and the french kiss" and they said it was a good book! Try reading it. ♥

  11. Definitely not alone, i've only read 3 of those! (Paper Towns, 13 Reasons Why, and Wake) There are a lot on there that I keep meaning to get to, but for one reason or another I just haven't...one day. I actually liked Dead To You better than I did the Wake trilogy as a whole, but I definitely liked the concept of Wake better - it is quite original and fascinating!

    Great topic!

  12. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor and Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher were both so great :) I cried in 13RW and DoS&B is just ..wow. You will never expect it....

    ReplyDelete
  13. You're definitely not alone! I have only read evernight from your list. Maybe we should all be vowing to read one of these a month 'til we've all caught up!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have only read 2 of these, if it makes you feel any better. I love Anna and the French Kiss and I thought Firelight was surprisingly good! I was hesitant about the dragons but I ended up enjoying it. I am glad I am not the only one who hasn't read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone yet. LOL :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I didn't like Firelight. The dragon shifting didn't seem particularly well done, so if you don't like them, I wouldn't bother. It's super love triangle-y and romance novel-ish.

I haven't read Dead to You, but Wake is a better idea than it's executed. Her writing style in YA drives me crazy, like teens are incapable of thinking in complete sentences. Her middle grade book is MUCH better written. WHAT THE HECK?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love Lisa McMann's Wake series. It's one of my favourite YA series. Except the third book is my least favourite, the first two are awesome in my opinion.

You should definitely read John Green! I'd start with something other than Paper Towns though, Looking For Alaska or The Fault in Our Stars. The latter being his best work so far probably.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well, I haven't read any of them either:) I intend to read the paranormal ones, but there are so many other books to read so I don't know when that will be.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I haven't really read Paper Towns (waiting on myself) but John Green is an amazing author, and you just have to try his books!

    ReplyDelete
  19. You're not alone on this one - I've not read any of these books either! But then again, most of the books that are really hyped have me shuffling my feet. :-)

  20. I haven't read any of them either! You're not alone! Many are on my list though...for someday...

    Here's my TTT!

  21. 13 reasons why sounds so good but I also haven't read it. You NEED to read Anna and the french kiss. It's amazing! :D

  22. I've read 7 of the books on this list. I enjoyed most of the 7 but I really loved Anna and the French Kiss and 13 Reasons Why the most! They were so amazing!

  23. I've read Wake, Lament and Nightshade but none of the rest. However, all the others I either own or have on my TBR list.

  24. Okay, ready? NIGHTSAHDE? A wonderful, wonderful series. But a horrible, horrible ending. I was so disappointed it's not even funny. Than again, maybe it's just me. EVERNIGHT IS AMAZING. I haev that whole series and I am so glad I do. (Well, the actual series, not the runoff nivel BALTHAZAR, though I love him.) ANGELFIRE, a great book, ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS, *sigh* Loved it! THIRTEEN REASONS WHY, I don't know what to say about it, but I've read it. Everything else, though, I need to read sometime too.

  25. Oh I'm waiting to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone too! It sounds interesting!
I didn't like 13 reasons why, I just couldn't get into it... Wake was odd, I tried to read it this morning from the library and it just seemed odd... looking forward to seeing if you review it! And Anna and the french kiss was a bit of a let down for me... it felt very ridged in it's writing.
Hope they're all amazing for you though!

  26. What?!! I've read a bunch of these and can totally vouch for their greatness. I loved Nightshade, Anna and the French Kiss, Angelfire, Firelight, and Evernight. But if you only read one book on this list then you MUST read Daughter of Smoke and Bone! It is INCREDIBLE!

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL! I haven't read any of those either. I do have one of them in my TBR pile.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I've read Daughter of Smoke & Bones,Wake, & Evernight, all which were fabulous. Of the others, most in my towering pile of TBR books. I didn't read the Hunger Games trilogy till right before the movie came either sooo

    ReplyDelete
  29. Do not feel alone at all! I've only read Daughter of Smoke and Bone (and loved it!) and am not particularly interested in reading most of the others on your list. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haha...its not just you...me neither! All of them have been on my TBR list for long but never got round to reading it! :(
    Good luck to u ( n me!)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I haven't read any of those either! I'd like to read Anna and the French Kiss, but I think my mom would kill me if she saw me reading something with that kind of title. =p

  32. Claudia Gray, Angelfire, Daughter of Smoke are are sitting by my bed right now. Hope to get to at least one of them read this summer!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have read 3 of these, but the rest are actually on my bookcase to read! Anna and the French Kiss was amazing, and so it the Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I was very hesitate to read John Green to, cause I'd heard so many wonderful things. I finally took the plunge the other day and read The Fault In Our Stars, Oh my god! It was phenominal!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love this post! And I thought I was the only one who hadn't read these books :) I have read Wake and I liked it. It was my first book by her. Also Daughter of Smoke & Bone is awesome too but the rest are on my TBR list!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have not read quite a few of these either... It's normally the case around those 'must read' books! But I agree with previous comments definitely go read John Green - he's a great author - but don't start with Paper Towns, which as a big fan is my least favourite, I'd say try the Fault in Our Stars! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've only read half of that list and haven't read the other 5. Haven't read any of John Green's, but everyone says that he's great, so I'm looking forward to getting a chance to read his books!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I haven't read any from this list either. But I've seen every other book around the online book stores and blogs except Evernight. Here's to both of us getting these books and reading them.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OMG! i cracked up with your caption of Anna and the French Kiss! lol

i have not read the books in the list either. but i do hope i'll be able to read some them soon. Anna and the French Kiss is one of my TBR books

    ReplyDelete
  39. I've read four of the books on your list...Nightshade (pretty good), Angelfire (really good), Firelight (mucho enjoyed) and Daughter of Smoke and Bone (you NEED to read this!!).

I've got Anna and the French Kiss sat on my shelf waiting for me to read :-)

Otherwise think the only other book I really fancy reading out of your choice is Lament. Like yourself I loved The Shiver series and Scorpio Races (how AWESOME was it by the way?!!).

I've only read a few John Green books. If you want to give one a go I'd definitely recommend The Fault In Our Stars. Its soooooooo good. By the end you'll want your own Augustus Waters!(and probably will be crying like a baby - I did).

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have EVERNIGHT in my sights. It does look like an amazing read & series.

    ReplyDelete
  41. How can you NOT have read Anna and the French Kiss yet?!! Read it now. It really is as amazing as everyone has been saying it is. I finished it in a day, so if you read fast, you don't even have to go outside with the cheesy cover (which I secretly love!).

    ReplyDelete
  42. If you like Twilight, you'll like Firelight. If you don't like Firelight... well, you're not missing much, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I've only read one of the books, Lament, and I absolutely loved it. I like this book and Ballad way more than the Mercy Falls series (I've only gotten through one of the books in that series so far).

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've only read 4 of the books you listed so we're not that different :P
I feel the same way about Thirteen Reasons Why lol It's sort of wierd that I like reading depressing books when I'm most depressed.
I've never read anything by John Green, either. Maybe I'll give it a try soon...
From the ones I have read, I'd really recommend Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I was pleasantly surprised by it :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I haven't read any of these either. Really need to get around to reading Anna and the French Kiss and Thirteen Reasons Why.

Love these Top Ten Tuesday posts! I participate in the Teaser Tuesday meme, but I think I may start doing this one, too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. hmm so I haven't read any of those books either. There're just too many books!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I haven't read any of these either...I've heard of most of them and a few are on my TBR...so don't feel so bad ;)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm a big fan of the Wake series, but am on the fence with the author's other works. That series, however, I passed onto all my friends, even the non-readers. All of us loved it and couldn't put it down. It's definitely worth reading.
