Rock The Drop!

Once again, readergirlz and Figment are going to ROCK THE DROP in honor of Support Teen Lit Day, 4/12/12. We can’t wait! Here’s how you can get involved:
* Snag the above bookplate and/or banner, created by the uber-talented David Ostow and add it to your blog and social networks, linking back to this post to share the love. Proclaim that you will ROCK THE DROP!

* Print a copy of the bookplate and insert it into a book (or 10!) to drop on April 12th. Drop a book in a public spot (park bench, bus seat, restaurant counter?). Lucky finders will see that the book is part of ROCK THE DROP!

*Plan to snap a photo and post it at the readergirlz facebook page. Then tweet the drop at #rockthedrop with all the other lovers of YA books.
I am so excited to take part in this awesome event! I will be dropping SEVEN books around my town, Port Townsend, WA! So if you live in this area, keep reading some hints on where to find them!
Here are the books I will be dropping:
All wrapped up and ready to be distributed!

The Thirteenth Child
After Obsession
The Host
The Lost Years of Merlin
Infinity
The Death Catchers
The Ghost Huntress: The Discovery
The Lost Years of Merlin
After Obsession
Dark Souls
Any interest you? Follow these hints to find the goodies!

You're riding the bus into town, and looking around. You're pulling into the Park and Ride! Look around, there might just be a bookish goody for you to find!

After the ride you're in need of a snack, head on over to Safeway, there just be a book there too!

While in the Safeway you bought a postcard, you need to mail it, so you head up the hill. Go to the post office (across the street from my house)! Who knows, there might just a book sitting about!

Time for your lunch, so you walk back downtown, you see a place called Water Front Pizza, the pizza is great! And who knows? You might just find a great book there as well!

The pizza was great, without a doubt, but you're still hungry, so walk on over to the burrito place across the street, there's a book there, you're in for a treat!

School days, school days, time for one now, with three schools to make, you must be about! So head on over to the PT High School, grab a book, you have ENGLISH TODAY!

Now it's time to go to Benji's school itself, head on over to Swan School, take a look about, because if you keep your eyes pealed, they're might just be a book lying about!

Time for the final drop, just a short walk away, go to Blue Heron Middle School and grab a good book!

Okay, hope that made sense, LOL! All the books I dropped have a "Non Reluctant Reader" business card in them, so if you grab one, please let me know! I'll be interested to see where all the books end up!
 Happy hunting everyone!

  1. Completely jealous that I don't live in WA. This sounds like an awesome event. I may have to see if I can drum something like this up in SC. Thanks for the post.

  2. This is really cool. I didn't even know "Rock the Drop" existed. Too bad I haven't come across any random books.

  3. I'm going to try to do this tonight. Don't know if I'll be able to print color bookplates, my printer is missing some ink.

  11. I think this is really a great thing to do. I live in a small town so no one around us is doing this but I like the idea.

Thank you for the comment, I love and appreciate each and every one! As of March 2012, The Non Reluctant Reader is an awards-free zone. I'm honored to be considered, but do not currently have the time to pass the award on. Comments are the best award I can receive though!
