Mackenzie and Amy were best friends. Until Amy was brutally murdered.

Since then, Mac’s life has been turned upside down. She is being haunted by Amy in her dreams, and an extremist group called the Trackers has come to Mac’s hometown of Hemlock to hunt down Amy’s killer: A white werewolf.

Lupine syndrome—also known as the werewolf virus—is on the rise across the country. Many of the infected try to hide their symptoms, but bloodlust is not easy to control.

Wanting desperately to put an end to her nightmares, Mac decides to investigate Amy’s murder herself. She discovers secrets lurking in the shadows of Hemlock, secrets about Amy’s boyfriend, Jason, her good pal Kyle, and especially her late best friend. Mac is thrown into a maelstrom of violence and betrayal that puts her life at risk.

Kathleen Peacock’s thrilling novel is the first in the Hemlock trilogy, a spellbinding urban fantasy series filled with provocative questions about prejudice, trust, lies, and love.
When I first heard about Hemlock, I was really excited! It sounded like the perfect paranormal book! Even though werewolf books can be a big hit or miss thing for me (most of them time miss), it sounded really good! But when I first got the ARC, it sat on my shelf collecting dust for a while, but when I finally picked it up, I read it in a freaking day! It was 408 pages, so that shows how much I love this book!

The first thing that stood out to me in it was the main character, Mackenzie. She was a really awesome main character that I loved reading about! I also liked how she acted like a vigilante and did detective work by herself!

The love triangle in this book was so intense! It was also my favorite love triangle I've read so far this year! Both characters (Jason and Kyle) had great chemistry with Mackenzie, but right now I'm strongly Team Kyle! I just the nice guys I guess!

The plot in Hemlock was so well done too! With perfect pacing and deft plot development, it never had a dull moment and kept me up way too late (4 am, I think)!

Hemlock is utterly amazing! I have found a new favorite author in Kathleen Peacock and demand sequels!
Cover Comments: This cover is really nice! I love the hemlock entangled with the title!

  6. I'm like you when it comes to werewolf books. Some are amazing and you can't put down, then there's some that you have to put down because it's tiresome and cliche. Since you read this in a day, I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks for the review!

  7. Interesting that you found the love triangle to be great because I've been getting so tired of them lately. So I'm really excited to read this book now!
